Touch > Filtered Search (#107) POS Key
Description
Used to search for Products. Alternatively use the SwiftPOS Touch Search button.
To Be Considered
- If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.
- For Filtered Search POS Key setup information ...
- You can set the number of records that are returned here. Default is 50 records.
- The wildcard for searching is the "%" symbol. If you want to search for "Coke" and "ml" anywhere in the search then you can enter "Coke%ml" to find all the different sizes of Coke.
Pre-Requisites
- Ensure the Function Filtered Search POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.
- Multiple Filtered Search POS Keys can be added to a keyboard and each can be preset to a search Categories/Product Groups/Families only. For example, one to search the Category Alcoholic Beverage, and one to search the Family Breads.

Operation
To display/print a list of the Blackboard Specials or Specials of the Day at a SwiftPOS Touch terminal, do as follows:
- At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, select the Filtered Search POS Key.
- If no Filtered Search POS Key Settings are set (ie. the default settings are being used), then the following screen is displayed:

- Depending on the search selected above, either a Category/Product Group/Family Search screen will be displayed, from which a further filter selection can be made.
- Once all filters have been selected a screen will be displayed displaying all the Products returned by the search. Below is an example of the results of a filtered search based on the Family Breads.

Blackboard Specials / Specials of the Day
Description
Used to display/print the Specials of the day.

Pre-Requisites
- Create a Chefs Specials or Specials of the Day captioned POS Key using the Function Filtered Search POS Key, and add it to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.
- Create a Family called Chef Specials or Specials of the Day and move Products in and out of this Family as required.
Operation
To display/print a list of the Blackboard Specials or Specials of the Day at a SwiftPOS Touch terminal, do as follows:
- Select the Blackboard Specials or Specials of the Day captioned POS Key (created above).
- The Products assigned to the Family will be displayed, as seen below:

- Select the Print button on the right to print all the Products and their Notes that are on special. An example of which can be seen below:

Description
During keyboard setup a Filtered Search POS Key can be configured to limit a Product search to either a Category, Product Group or Family.
This screen is accessed from here.
- Category - Select from the drop down list of Categories, to limit the Products searched to the Category selected.
- Group - Select from the drop down list of Product Groups, to limit the Products searched to the Product Group selected.
- Family - Select from the drop down list of Families, to limit the Products searched to the Family selected.
- Sorting - Select from one of the following:
- Default Sorting
- Sort by PLU
- Sort by Description
- Exclude Keyboard - Select to ensure that when the Search screen is displayed at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, the qwerty keyboard is not displayed at the bottom of the screen.
